Terrariums

Collecting natural charcoal - ideal for filtering
water in our terrariums AND for drawing!
Writing with charcoal on Eucalyptus bark,
aka "Nature's paper"

Gathering moss for miniature gardens

Sorting through natural treasures: rocks,
seed pods, pinecones, flowers, charcoal bits, etc.

Bright orange from a California poppy
is a beautiful touch to this mini landscape 
After finishing the terrariums we had extra time so we
moved on to the next activity and pulled out the oil
pastels to experiment with a new medium
